Water Safety
About This Project
As part of my instructional design field work I partnered with Girl Scouts of West Central Florida and designed a series of safety videos to be featured at camp activity locations. The objective of this video was to quickly remind water watchers of their importance while using the water activities at camp properties.

Mind Map
Design Process
After Identifying reported issues with the Camp Ranger Team, I worked with the Outdoor Properties Team to map out key areas of improvement. We identified all issues that were mentioned and who they impacted most. We also assessed the reality of using technology in an outdoor environment in Florida. Once we had narrowed down our two main points of intervention as Archery and Swimming, I began researching the standard safety checkpoints through USA Archery, Red Cross and Girl Scouts of the USA.

Storyboard
After collecting research I began the storyboarding process using The Plot. This projects was intentional to not be a training program but a refresher video to help volunteers recall aspects of their training. I used images that would represent the scenes once moved to Vyond. While wanting to be mindful of a time limit we used the storyboarding process to pinpoint the main features we wanted to get across during the videos.

Video Animation
After the storyboarding and scripting process I began creating the videos in Vyond. This was my first time using Vyond and grew to love the video animation website. I used the audio available in Vyond to narrate the video, and was able to utilize whistle commands to give the video a more lifelike feel. We were also able to use the Vyond website to demonstrate specific information we wanted to highlight for adult volunteers who were going to be acting as a watcher.

Final Product
To finalize the project, I created QR codes that will be posted at the camp activity locations. I used the Canva software to generate the QR code and features from the Canva software to create an attention grabbing design. I also included characters from the videos as a fun addition to the code and included brand colors in the design to promote a seamless design throughout the product branding.
