Hello
My name is Catherine McKenzie-Baeten but I go by Cassie. I have am currently working on my Doctoral degree in Instructional Design and Performance Technology from Baker University. I fell in love with training and curriculum development while working in Housing and Residence Life. I enjoy being able to conceal learning in fun engaging course content and tackling informal learning experiences.
I love designing training that captures the essence of the whole learner. I excel at capturing learners interests and incorporating them into trainings. I believe in harnessing the attributes of employees and empowering them to bring their whole self to the table.

I began my college career at a small public school in Ft. Myers Florida. I was perusing a communication degree and a French Minor. Once completing my associates I transferred to a bigger school in Tampa, Florida. At FGCU I developed my love for student activities and student life.

The University of South Florida
I continued my college journey at the University of South Florida a large urban school in Tampa, Florida. I earned Communication degree from USF and became very involved with student life. Although I did not realize it at the time, I began my instructional design career here by coding my first online training as part of the Office of Orientation and began developing my love for design and curriculum.

Master of Science in Higher Education Administration
The University of North Florida
My passion for learning took flight during my masters program. Working for Housing and Residence life I worked closely with residential curriculum and training. I loved being able to immediately implement feedback to our bi-yearly training and work closely with students from a variety of cultures.
2020- Present
Doctorate in Education in Instructional Design and Performance Technology
Baker University
I refined my skills and design processes during my doctoral work. I became experienced in group work and a variety of adult learning methodologies and best practices. I am currently working on my dissertation and expect to be finished by May 2024.
